Patient Reviews
The reception staff could use a lot more courtesy when dealing with patients. As someone who's worked in reception for a hospital as well, I understand it's taxing and stressful to handle the patient volume while trying to be courteous and respectful at the same time. But this should be no reason to wear an almost hostile face, especially since every single patient going to a hospital isn't going there because they want to. At the time of my visit last Saturday evening (13th of December 2025), at the reception on the first floor of there were two receptionists (one Filipino lady and one Indian man). The lady was receptive enough, but informed me that "waiting time will be more than two hours". When I asked if I could leave for a bit and come back, she mentioned that if I wasn't there when my name was called, they'd have to call the next patient afterwards, which I understood and agreed to. I left and came back after around an hour and a half, and I was informed that they had been calling me for a long time. I understand that reception staff cannot realistically give a timeframe for the total wait time because each consultation will take varying amounts of time, but please do not let your staff explicitly say "the waiting time *will* be more than 2 hours" when the fact of the matter is it can be significantly less than that. Either state a bigger range of time closer to reality, or simply do not state a timeframe if the staff cannot provide reliable estimates. But my primary complaint is with the Indian (?) man at the reception that evening. After I was informed that my turn had passed, and the nursing staff in vitals told me to come back to reception and ask them to reopen the file, I went to reception to do exactly that. I completely understand having to go to the back of the queue again, because I was in fact not present when my name was called. But the Indian man, upon hearing this, had this stern, unwelcoming, disapproving expression, almost as if to berate me. I did not make a scene, but it left me feeling almost angry. I was cooperative and I wasn't making any problems for them. I was perfectly fine with waiting. Despite that, I felt like I was being treated like a difficult, irate patient, as if I had done something terribly wrong and stupid. To add to that, every staff member I politely asked for an update or asked how far along I was in queue, kept pointing me to another staff member. I understand it's busy, but at the very least give me an idea how long I have to wait. Like I said, I have no problem with waiting, but it's not exactly good when we're waiting with no idea whether or not you're even getting closer to being seen by the Doctor. I had somewhere else to go to at the time, and I needed to know how long it would take. I almost went through with cancelling my visit, but the lady receptionist told me it wasn't going to be very long before I was seen by the doctor, since they transferred me from a GP to Family Medicine. I should've learned my lesson from the previous "time estimate", but I did in fact wait like another hour or thereabouts. So I don't think that receptionist has any right to give these time estimates. In total, I had spent around 3 hours just waiting, not including the time I went out before coming back. Coincidentally, there was another patient that did in fact make a scene, since they apparently had been waiting for two hours without any update on their situation. He was arguing with the same man I am referring to. I don't think that is the feeling that NMC wants to give to its patients. At the very least, the doctor & the nurse who did my ECG were good enough staff. Unfortunately, my experience as a whole after coming here a few times is still absolutely terrible, and there is absolutely massive room for improvement.
One of the worst hospitals I've been to in Abu Dhabi, it takes 1hr for you to get your number and another 1hr to get admitted. The arab receptionist is just talking to its colleagues and using the phone. This will be my first and last time here at this hospital 👎
The experience I’ve had during the outpatient visit was smooth and professional. The reception and the nurse were polite, attentive and approachable despite the high volume of patients coming in. Kudos to the guy and the girl at the front desk that time and to the filipino nurse!! 💯👍🏻 Registration process and waiting time didn’t take too long despite how busy it was. The doctor was also attentive and explained everything. Overall, NMC provides reliable healthcare with excellent service and professional staff even if they are facing lots of patients. Highly recommended.
Waiting time is 2 hours minimum even if you have the appointment. NMC lowered their standards.. too disappointing!
Did my husband and kids pcr test yesterday at 3pm drive thru after waiting in the line for 45 mins. Registraion done by drive thru staff Extremely unhygienically with longs dirty nails and no gloves NO BASIC HYGEINE FOR COVID-19 and this building is only for covid cases. WE HAD TO FILL UP THE FORMS OURSELVES WITH PENS BEING TOUCHED BY GOD KNOWS HOW MANY PEOPLE. Awaiting the test results even after it says drive thru pcr test reports withon 12 hrs and its 9 in the morning MORE THAN 18 HRS AND STILL DRIVE THRU PCR TEST REPORTA ARE PENDING NOT RECOMMENDED as we missed school and office for the day
