My wife and I visited this hospital on September 8th 2025 for a genetic consultation only, to discuss our test results. We were both carriers of the same gene, and the test itself was not fully conclusive. Unfortunately, our experience with Dr. Firmine Jean was extremely distressing and disappointing. From the moment we entered, we felt that all doors were closed in our faces. We were told in a very harsh and alarming manner that our case was “dangerous” and that we could have children with severe disabilities, electrolyte disorders, or ambiguous sex development (such as a male fetus developing female characteristics). This information was delivered without empathy, without proper explanation, and without balance. What made the situation even worse was that the Arabic translator (a female translator) was extremely harsh and blunt. She repeated every frightening detail word-for-word, even though such sensitive information should have been communicated with care and emotional awareness. As a result, my wife was terrified, and the psychological impact lasted for months, causing anxiety and insomnia. When my wife asked Dr. Firmine Jean and the translator, “What do you advise us to do?” the answer was simply: “I don’t know.” Hearing this from a medical professional was devastating, especially since we came only for guidance and reassurance. We were also told that if pregnancy occurred and the fetus was affected or even just a carrier termination would not be an option, without explaining any alternatives or future medical pathways. Later, we discovered through other specialists that there are multiple safe and well-established options, and that our situation is manageable and not hopeless at all. After this experience, we consulted Dr. Salma Al Ameri, a genetic specialist who was kind, calm, and reassuring. She clearly explained that IVF is an available option, that there are several other safe medical approaches, and that our case can be managed properly. Her explanation was balanced and supportive, and it greatly reassured my wife. We then visited Corniche Hospital, where we met another genetics specialist, Dr. Laura. She carefully reviewed our case, explained that the initial genetic test was inaccurate, and reassured us that our situation is normal and not concerning. Her explanation was calm, clear, and genuinely comforting, helping us regain peace of mind. Medical facts are important, but how they are communicated matters just as much. This experience lacked compassion, guidance, and emotional sensitivity, and I sincerely hope the hospital reviews how genetic counseling cases are handled.

I want to express my sincere gratitude for all the services, the quality of care that I received from the very beginning of my appointment up to my discharge to all the Staff in this facility, special mention to Ms. Swanie De Guzman for taking time answering all my queries, being compassionate in her profession, and delivered care with a friendly manner as well! I am so happy to meet the registration team specially ms noura alshamsy she was so human and helpful she has a-good hospitality skills and know how to mange if there is in delay and she will offer a help and other solution for help and make day very easy thanks SEHA and thanks ms noura

have to wait 1+ hrs just to register! people who came late got called first! my appointment was 1:30 but still waiting for my number to be called at 1:51 pm. came early and got my number at 12:40 pm. very disappointing!
